- Review, redline, and oversee updates to installation documentation and drawings, collaborating with drafting teams to resolve design issues efficiently.
- Execute design changes to address equipment or process challenges, ensuring all designs meet functional and performance requirements.
- Perform elementary design calculations (e.g., statics, hydraulics, power transmission) to support both new designs and modifications of existing systems.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and project managers to ensure designs meet project goals and customer expectations.
- Provide detailed sketches and marked-up drawings to address evolving project needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
Associate's degree (AAS) in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a Bachelor's degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering. Equivalent work experience may be considered in exceptional cases. - Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting. - Technical Expertise:
Proficiency with AutoCAD® 2023, Inventor 2023, and related CAD software tools. In-depth understanding of mechanical drive trains, electrical and pneumatic actuators, and system integration. Expertise in preparing complete drawing packages, from assembly to detailed drawings, for industrial equipment. Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and experience interpreting pneumatic and electrical schematics. Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including machining and fabrication, to ensure efficient and practical designs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Highly motivated and results-oriented professional with excellent organizational skills. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project requirements. Comfortable working in small teams and collaborating across departments to meet deadlines. Experience with precision measurement tools (e.g., tape measures, calipers, micrometers).
