Duties
Develop Design Documentation Report (DOR), drawings, and specifications for design-bid-build projects and Request for Proposal (RFP) for a construction contract.
Perform field investigations to evaluate existing conditions, identify structural deficiencies, and recommend solutions for redesign, repair, or modification.
Review plans, specifications, and design analyses completed by A/E Contractors to ensure that design methods and related engineering practices and techniques are in accordance with established project requirements and design standards.
Conduct technical evaluation of Requests for Information (RFls) and construction problems; and assisting with contractor and other claims.
Utilize structural engineering software to perform finite element modeling. Incorporate in the design the requirements of ACI, ASCE, AASHTO, USAGE Engineering Manuals, IBC, and other design codes.
Review construction submittals and technical data for compliance with specifications, completeness and approved design criteria.
