My client, a leading organisation developing next-generation nuclear technology, is looking for an Integrated Safety Analysis (ISA) Manager to lead the safety analysis programme for both its Test Loop facility and planned production-scale uranium enrichment facility. The role will ensure hazards are systematically identified, safety controls are clearly defined, and regulatory requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and maintain ISA licensing and regulatory deliverables
- Provide technical oversight of internal and contractor ISA contributors
- Lead HAZOP, What-If/Checklist, FMEA, and other structured hazard analyses
- Develop accident scenarios and identify credible accident sequences
- Define and document Items Relied on for Safety (IROFS) and associated management measures
- Support regulatory and licensing submissions and coordinate external consultants
- Provide ISA guidance across design reviews, readiness reviews, and procedure development
- Drive continuous improvement across hazard analysis, safety controls, and documentation
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- 5+ years' experience in nuclear engineering, nuclear operations, or nuclear safety
- 2+ years' experience working in a nuclear operations environment
- Strong technical writing, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams
- U.S. Citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain DOE/NRC Q-Clearance
- Willingness to travel up to 10% and work extended hours when required
- Active DOE/NRC Q-Clearance or DOD Top Secret
- Advanced degree in Nuclear Engineering
- Experience in the nuclear fuel cycle, uranium enrichment, or UF6 handling
- EPC, commissioning, or operations experience within nuclear or chemical processing facilities
- Knowledge of NRC licensing, nuclear safety regulations, and NQA-1 / ISO quality systems
- Onsite role in Wilmington, NC
