Senior Cost Analyst
Job Location: Houston, Texas, USA (HYBRID)
Job Description- Lead project cost development, evaluation, and reporting for gas turbine power generation projects during both proposal and project execution phases.
- Partner with proposal, finance, project management, engineering, construction, and other cross-functional teams to develop accurate and competitive project costs.
- Manage project cost forecasts, estimates at completion (EAC), actual costs, percent complete, and cost-to-go projections.
- Identify cost risks and opportunities while supporting budget management, process improvements, and margin improvement initiatives.
- Lead preparation, integration, and optimization of project costs for proposals.
- Develop project cost summaries and present cost information to leadership.
- Lead accurate calculation and optimization of Estimates at Completion (EACs) using actual costs and project progress.
- Partner with Project Managers and Project Finance Managers to support budgets and financial reviews.
- Collaborate with functional teams to review and approve accurate EACs and maintain effective project cost-control practices.
- Regularly engage with functional owners across construction, site staffing, technical advisory services, project management, and other project functions to identify cost risks and opportunities.
- Track and communicate cost opportunities, risks, and progress across project teams.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies.
- Develop standard work documentation and best practices for project cost estimation and forecasting.
- Apply lessons learned from project execution to future proposals and margin improvement efforts.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction, or another relevant technical discipline from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, power plant design, cost estimating, cost engineering, or a related field.
- Strong technical knowledge of gas turbine power plant systems, including plant-level design and costing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience with process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
