Position: Automation Test Engineer IV - 3111

Due to nuclear site access/or export-controlled project requirements, this role requires candidates must also be willing to work on W2. Power Electronics Test Engineer – LabVIEW/Test Stand & PCB Work Arrangement:

Hybrid – onsite as needed

Contract Duration:

1-year contract (Possible multi-year extension and conversion to Full time based on performance)

Pay Rate:

Up to $58/hour + 50% Health Insurance (Medical + Dental + Vision)

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; some flexibility available

Hours:

40 hours/week

Position Overview

We are seeking a Power Electronics Test Engineer with strong hands-on experience in analog electronics, digital electronics, LabVIEW, Test Stand, printed circuit boards (PCB), and automated test systems.

The engineer will develop manual and automated test programs, test procedures, specifications, inspections, and technical documentation for electronic components and replacement parts used in nuclear power plant applications.

This position requires a strong combination of power electronics knowledge, troubleshooting ability, laboratory testing experience, automated test development, and technical documentation skills.

The engineer will work closely with engineering, sourcing, quality, manufacturing, technicians, suppliers, and other cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop manual and automated production test procedures to validate product reliability and functionality.
  • Develop automated test programs for electronic components and assemblies.
  • Design, verify, and test power distribution, control, analog, and digital electronic systems.
  • Support the development and testing of electronic components and replacement parts used in nuclear power applications.
  • Develop detailed engineering specifications, test documentation, inspections, and supporting technical documentation.
  • Ensure timely delivery of detailed designs and technical support for manufacturing and testing activities.
  • Provide power electronics solutions for products and engineering projects.
  • Manage technical requirements throughout the electronics product-development lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot complex analog and digital electronics problems and identify root causes.
  • Support resolution of technical issues involving current projects, equipment under test, and in-service equipment.
  • Provide hands‑on technical support to technicians performing laboratory and production testing.
  • Work with sourcing, quality, manufacturing, engineering teams, and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.
  • Support design‑for‑manufacturing and design‑for‑test (DFT) activities.
  • Develop and maintain engineering and test documentation.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university, or equivalent relevant qualification/experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of power electronics engineering experience.
  • Experience with National Instruments LabVIEW.
  • Experience with National Instruments Test Stand.
  • Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics.
  • Experience working with printed circuit boards (PCBs).
  • Experience developing or supporting electronic testing solutions.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
