CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Mechanical Designer.

Type: Contract

Job Title: Mechanical Designer

Location: Wilmington, NC

Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Wilmington, NC

Pay Rate: Based on experience

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Education: Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field;
Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Description

CTG is seeking a Mechanical Designer to design and modify mechanical equipment, components, and layouts for industrial manufacturing systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, mechanical drafting, manufacturing drawings, and equipment design
.

Requirements
  • Create and modify mechanical designs, equipment layouts, and detailed manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor
  • Develop drawing packages, machine part lists, build packages, illustrations, and equipment specifications
  • Redesign components to resolve equipment interference, design issues, and installation challenges
  • Prepare sketches and marked-up drawings and implement engineering design changes
  • Apply knowledge of machining, fabrication, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems
  • Interpret electrical schematics and translate engineering requirements into mechanical designs
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, vendors, and cross-functional teams
  • Maintain a strong commitment to workplace and job-site safety
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of mechanical design/drafting experience
    , preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor
  • Experience with mechanical equipment design, CAD drafting, layouts, and manufacturing drawings
  • Knowledge of machining, fabrication, and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics
  • Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team environment
  • Experience with precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures
  • Minimal travel to vendor locations may be required
