The primary responsibility of this position is to improve plant uptime and increase the efficiency of machinery and processes. This role also supports new ideas, systems, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the site.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct and coordinate investigations of machine failures, including failure analysis and implementation of reliability solutions
  • Partner with maintenance teams to identify work practices and opportunities to prevent machine failures
  • Develop, implement, and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance routes
  • Implement best practices for lubrication, including lubricant selection and storage
  • Analyze plant data to identify maintenance focus areas, opportunities to reduce downtime, downtime trends by department and machine center, and additional opportunities to improve plant performance
  • Train maintenance teams to improve skills and technical knowledge
  • Redesign machinery and components as needed to improve reliability and reduce operating costs
  • Utilize the mill’s computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to manage lubrication and maintenance activities
  • Assist with planning and execution of maintenance activities
  • Develop and maintain systems that improve overall plant reliability
  • Apply predictive technologies such as vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or similar Engineering degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with industrial manufacturing equipment and/or trades experience is a plus
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills
  • Experience working with application developers, IT, and technical teams
  • Ability to communicate and present technical data to diverse audiences
  • Self-directed and motivated mindset
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Maximo
  • Previous industry experience preferred
