Function:

Assumes responsibility for staffing, planning, directing, and controlling the bank's Deposit Services department.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assumes responsibility for the efficient and effective control of all tasks assigned to the Bank's Deposit Services Department by:
  • Maintains tight and efficient controls of settlement procedures and documentation, as directed by Corporate Policy and SOX Controls.
  • Responsible for leading, motivating, training, evaluating, and rewarding Deposit Services staff members.
  • Reviews and takes appropriate action on more serious problems within each functional area.
  • Approves general ledger entries and online dollar entries.
  • Monitors various aging reports for outstanding items.
  • Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the following functions:
  • Reviews and takes appropriate action on more serious problems within each functional area.
  • Maintains the Productivity Reporting statistics on a monthly basis for direct functional areas.
  • Maintains tight and efficient controls of settlement procedures and documentation, as directed by Corporate Policy and SOX Controls. Ensures all assigned reconcilements are completed in accordance with corporate policy.
  • Acts as a liaison with legal counsel in matters relating to deposit issues, including legal documentation.
  • Assists with the input and control of the FIS Bank Control parameters as they relate to Deposits, IFMS, Safebox, Retirements,and CIS
  • Works with vendors in upgrading and testing both hardware and software related to the day-to-day processing of department responsibilities.
  • Maintains and updates Disaster Recovery plan information for Deposit Services.
  • Assists the Deposit Operations Manager with merger and acquisition planning, deposit data mapping, test report review and conversion. Conversion activities to include reconcilements and signoffs for all deposit accounts, IRA federal tax withheld and any other general ledger accounts that typically fall within the Deposit Services department as well as transfer of any deposit related files, documents and outstanding work.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with bank employees. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently, as well as motivated to work as a team player to contribute to the success of the department and in turn, the organization.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as required.
Education:

Requires a four-year college degree or equivalent.

Experience:

More than ten years of general experience. Two to five years of specialized training.

Physical Demands:

Operates a keypad device 70-80%, operates electronic equipment 0-10% throughout the day. Traveling to alternate work locations 0-10%, overnight stays 0-10%. The primary parts of the body involved in performing these tasks are the finger, thumbs, hands, wrist and elbow. Standing 10-20%, sitting 70-80% of throughout the day.
