What We Offer
Acts as a liaison to all departments which require the services of linen to include scrubs and performs functions related to, but not limited to, customer service, par levels, inventory management, linen injections and linen discards.
What You'll DoOperational:
Evaluates equipment needs and maintenance. May require work to cover for department needs. These duties may include pushing and pulling of carts weighing up to 600 pounds and lifting laundry loads of up to 50 pounds. Unload linen truck; random audit of clean linen cart weights. Pull soiled linen; record weight, location and time, then load to truck. Deliver clean linen.
Count stained and torn linen. Replenish Par locations and exchange carts. Facilitates all computer functions related to linen software, handhelds and other computer systems associated with linen management.
Compliance:
Ensures compliance to all department, hospital, Corporate and Joint Commission policies/recommendations in all market facilities through education and guidance to linen leaders. Ensures accurate management of PAR levels, monitor replenish rate, rag out rate, and level of stock on hand. Maintains competency according to department policies, procedures and protocols. Records what is delivered and returned.
Process Improvement:
Identifies opportunities to improve processes and shares with leadership. Willing to learn about new trends in linen management in healthcare. Collaborates with other departments or disciplines to achieve desired outcomes. Maintains verbal/written communications with customers to develop and monitor quality of core processes in the department.
Customer Service:
Accountable for the satisfactory completion of work. Provides excellent customer service relating to par levels, and any special customer inquiries. Answering phones, responding to requests and handling issues.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED, required. - Experience:
Experience in linen distribution or laundry production, preferred. - Additional Skills/Requirements (required):
Ability to perform repetitive tasks. Ability to document weight of linen items and quantities by department in a handheld device or designated forms. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; push/pull carts weighing up to 1000 lbs. Ability to work in stressful environment resulting from customer demands. Requires prolonged standing manual dexterity, pushing, pulling, and bending, stretching and stooping. - Additional Skills/Requirements (preferred):
Knowledge of hospital care linen/laundry requirements. Ability to use MS Office, Outlook, Excel.
