Position Description

The purpose of this position is to analyze, plan and implement technology innovations for departments. This is accomplished by communicating with users, maintaining databases, identifying and responding to needs and requests, obtaining and reviewing vendor information, analyzing data flow, troubleshooting hardware and software, scheduling training, and reviewing and approving expenditures. Other duties may include setting up user account access, researching and recommending upgrades, and developing specialized reports and applications.

Tasks
  • Supports systems by identifying, researching and coordinating installations and upgrades, assisting with security setups, evaluating and facilitating training, responding to customer requests and inquiries, coordinating information with departments and vendors, and providing ongoing support.
  • Provides customer service by communicating with departments, identifying user needs and requests, researching trends, software and hardware, evaluating environments, coding and/or monitoring applications, and providing related information to users.
  • Secures networks by establishing security measures, recommending policies and procedures, assessing permission types and associated data, maintaining documents, coordinating security investigations, and researching threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Identifies and completes related projects by coordinating meetings with users, implementing and supporting various systems and databases, ensuring quality, scheduling procedures, maintaining system performance, working with consultants and vendors, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring hardware and/or software is needed and warranted.
  • Advises, guides, and/or leads project teams to perform tasks associated with all phases of system implementation using project management methodology.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or closely related discipline and 3 years relevant IT experience.
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or closely related discipline and 5 years relevant IT experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED and 7 years relevant IT experience.
Other Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing job responsibilities and duties.
  • Ability to use and support a wide variety of computer applications.
  • Knowledge to develop and implement project articles such as charter, scope of work, work breakdown structure, request for proposal development, resource loaded project plan, change control, communications plan, risk mitigation plan, test, and acceptance plan.
  • Experience working with business processes, data management, and applications.
  • Ability to communicate and foster a cooperative and professional culture.

Selected applicant must pass a driving and criminal history check.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Exerting up to 10 lbs. occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position generally requires working in an office setting.
