A law firm seeks a dedicated Social Security Disability Attorney to join their team in North Carolina. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the community while working in a supportive and collaborative environment. The position is open to various office locations, including Durham, Greensboro, Wilmington, and Winston-Salem, NC.
Duties- Personally handle a caseload of Social Security disability cases from initial through the hearing level.
- Assist and provide guidance to paralegals with their Social Security disability caseloads.
- Engage in extensive client interaction, including intake review and subsequent communications.
- Read and summarize voluminous medical records.
- Prepare briefs and requests for on-the-record decisions to achieve successful resolutions for clients.
- Prepare clients for hearings and advocate on their behalf before Administrative Law Judges.
- Conduct opening and closing statements and cross-examine vocational witnesses.
- Must be licensed in any state and in good standing with the State Bar.
- Two plus years of experience practicing Social Security Disability Law.
- Advanced analytical and strong writing skills.
- Deadline-oriented with strong time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and assume significant responsibility.
- Understanding of Social Security regulations, POMS, HALLEX, and related matters.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
- Bar Membership required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
