Job Title: Materials Planner (Purchasing) - Contract

Location: North Carolina (Onsite, 5 days/week)

Contract Length: Initial 6 months (high likelihood of extension)

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

We are working with a leading pharmaceutical company seeking a Materials Planner to support their purchasing and supply chain function. This is a fast‑paced, hands‑on role where materials planning and demand alignment will be critical to ensuring uninterrupted production within a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead materials planning activities aligned to production demand within a pharmaceutical manufacturing setting
  • Analyse demand forecasts and translate into accurate material requirements
  • Work with Bill of Materials (BOMs) and production schedules to determine material needs and timelines
  • Manage and track purchase orders (POs) to ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, and suppliers
  • Proactively identify and mitigate supply risks or shortages
  • Maintain accurate data within ERP systems to support planning activities
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across planning and purchasing processes

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in materials planning, supply planning, or purchasing
  • Strong understanding of BOMs, demand planning, and PO management
  • Experience working within pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated environments (highly preferred)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work onsite in North Carolina, 5 days per week
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills in a cross‑functional setting
