The Senior Supply Chain Manager serves as a Global Supply Chain lead for the Drug Product Division (DPD), providing strategic leadership for integrated supply chain planning, inventory optimization, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) / Integrated Business Planning (IBP), and global supply chain governance across the division's manufacturing network.

This position partners closely with Commercial, Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, Quality, Finance, Program Management, and Site Supply Chain teams to develop and execute global supply chain strategies that support customer commitments, operational excellence, inventory optimization, and financial performance. The role is responsible for driving standardized planning processes, improving supply chain visibility, enabling digital transformation initiatives, and ensuring compliance with cGMP, regulatory requirements, and Thermo Fisher Scientific policies.

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Global Supply Chain, the incumbent serves as the global subject matter expert (SME) for Drug Product Division planning processes and provides functional leadership across multiple sites and regions.

Day in the Life:

Global Supply Chain Strategy
  • Lead the development and execution of global supply chain strategies supporting the Drug Product Division.

  • Drive alignment of global planning processes across manufacturing sites while balancing customer demand, manufacturing capacity, inventory investment, and financial objectives.

  • Develop standardized planning governance and best practices across the global manufacturing network.

  • Identify strategic supply chain risks and implement mitigation plans to ensure business continuity and customer supply.

Global Planning & Network Optimization
  • Oversee global Master Production Scheduling (MPS), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and inventory planning strategies.

  • Partner with regional planning teams to optimize manufacturing capacity utilization and network performance.

  • Lead cross-site balancing strategies to improve service levels and manufacturing efficiency.

Inventory & Working Capital Management
  • Develop global inventory strategies that optimize customer service while minimizing working capital.

  • Establish inventory governance for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.

  • Drive improvements in Days of Supply (DOS), inventory turns, excess and obsolete inventory reduction, and inventory accuracy.

  • Monitor inventory health through standardized KPIs and corrective action plans.

Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Provide functional leadership across global planning organizations through influence and collaboration.

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives involving Commercial, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, Finance, Program Management, Logistics, and Operations.

  • Mentor regional planning teams and promote knowledge sharing and standardized best practices.

Keys to Success:

Education:

Must have Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Science / Engineering.

MBA is a plus.

Lean Six Sigma, Project Management Certification is preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 8 years experience in supply chain management experience is required, preferred to have inventory and customer service management experience in a large highly complex GMP manufacturing environment in pharmaceutical or medical devices industry.

Must have SAP “Business Planning Tool” experience in Master Planning/Scheduling (MPS), Material Resources Planning (MRP) II in manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing or operations is preferred.

Competencies:

Demonstrated strong manufacturing planning processes design, improvement and implementation skills. Must have advanced Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Power BI experience. Knowledgeable in statistics, production scenario planning & modeling, what-if scenario analysis, algorithm for dynamic programming are preferred.
