The Inventory Control Specialist plays a key role in supporting Supply Chain operations at our Mebane manufacturing facility by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of plant inventory. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, performing cycle counts, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, and ensuring inventory transactions are accurately reflected within SAP. The Inventory Control Specialist works cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Purchasing, Production Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Warehouse teams to identify and resolve material issues while supporting the efficient flow of materials throughout the facility.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and integrity by performing regular physical cycle counts and reconciling inventory against system records
  • Process and maintain accurate inventory transactions and stock transfers within SAP, including Materials Management (MM), Production Planning (PP), and applicable warehouse management systems.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, transaction errors, and material variances to identify root causes and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Verify material consumption and monitor inventory activity, including yield, scrap, and other transactions impacting inventory accuracy.
  • Review and resolve SAP error logs, including COGI transactions, to support accurate inventory reporting and month-end close activities.
  • Generate and maintain inventory documentation, stock logs, tracking reports, and other inventory performance reporting as required.
  • Monitor inventory levels and material availability to help prevent production disruptions while minimizing excess inventory, waste, and material obsolescence.
  • Partner with Purchasing, Production Planning, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, and other cross-functional teams to resolve material shortages, inventory discrepancies, and delivery issues.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of material and inventory-related master data within applicable systems.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement related to inventory accuracy, material flow, transaction processes, and overall Supply Chain effectiveness.
  • Support additional Supply Chain and inventory control activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications And Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in inventory control, materials management, supply chain, or a related function within a manufacturing or plant environment preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience working within an ERP system required; SAP experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with SAP MM and/or PP modules and S/4

    HANA preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies and identify root causes.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities and work independently in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

The expected compensation range for this role is $65,000.00 -$73,000.00.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full‑time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job‑related skills, experience, and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours.

Benefits may be pro‑rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
