Regional Vice President – State Veterans Homes

STGi is seeking qualified candidates for this position in connection with an active Request for Proposals (RFP). Hiring for this role is contingent upon STGi's selection as the successful awardee.

Job Summary

The Regional Vice President (RVP) provides operational leadership and strategic oversight for multiple long‑term care facilities within an assigned region. This role partners closely with executive leadership, clinical teams, and facility administrators to ensure high‑quality resident care, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and operational excellence.

Travel is required and is extensive throughout the assigned region.

Essential Functions Operational Leadership
  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations of assigned long‑term care facilities.

  • Support and mentor Administrators and department leaders to achieve performance goals.

  • Ensure consistent implementation of company policies, procedures, and standards.

Clinical & Regulatory Oversight
  • Partner with clinical leadership to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Monitor quality measures, survey outcomes, and corrective action plans.

  • Support facilities during regulatory surveys and audits.

Financial Performance
  • Drive financial performance by managing budgets, labor costs, and operational expenses.

  • Analyze financial statements, census trends, and payer mix to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Collaborate with finance and reimbursement teams to optimize revenue.

Quality & Performance Improvement
  • Promote a culture of quality, safety, and resident‑centered care.

  • Lead performance improvement initiatives across facilities.

  • Monitor key quality indicators including rehospitalization rates, staffing metrics, and resident satisfaction.

Human Resources & Talent Development
  • Support recruitment, retention, and development of leadership and staff.

  • Ensure effective performance management and succession planning.

  • Address employee relations issues in partnership with HR.

Strategic Planning & Growth
  • Participate in strategic planning initiatives, including new facility onboarding and transitions.

  • Identify operational risks and develop proactive solutions.

  • Collaborate with admissions, marketing, and clinical teams to support census growth.

Required Skills Education & Experience
  • • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • • Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA/NHA) required based on state.

  • • 5‑10+ years of progressive leadership experience in long‑term care or post‑acute healthcare.

  • • Multi‑facility management experience strongly preferred.

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of long‑term care regulations and survey processes.

  • Proven leadership and team development skills.

  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and operational metrics.

  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.

  • Ability to travel regularly within assigned region.

  • • This position primarily involves sitting, standing, walking, twisting, reaching, bending/stooping, pushing and pulling (typical weight of 5 lb. and maximum weight of 30 lb., approximately), and lifting (minimum weight of 5 lb. and maximum weight of 100 lb., approximately).

  • • The position requires repetitive finger movements as well as hearing and talking on the phone and in person.

  • • Must be able to continuously deal effectively with stress created by residents, multiple tasks, noises, interruptions, and work cooperatively as part of the health care team while maintaining a pleasant attitude.
