GE Aerospace’s Flight Path Apprenticeship Program is a 9-to-12-month immersive experience combining classroom instruction at Cape Fear Community College with hands-on training in CNC machine operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting. Designed for detail-oriented, mechanically inclined individuals, the program equips participants with industry-recognized certifications, technical expertise, and the skills needed to thrive in manufacturing. Upon successful completion, apprentices transition into CNC Machinist roles, contributing to the production of high-quality aerospace components while advancing their careers with a global leader in aerospace technology.

What You'll Do

As a CNC Machinist Apprentice, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, learning to:

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking individuals who are ready to roll up their sleeves and dive into the world of manufacturing. To qualify, you’ll need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

  • At least 3 years of work experience.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

  • Basic math and problem-solving skills.

  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. using proper ergonomic procedures.

Preferred Skills & Traits

While not required, the following characteristics will set you apart:

  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with manual machining tools.
