The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Level III provides professional, competent anesthesia care to a wide variety of patients, from pediatric up to geriatric population, requiring surgical, obstetrical, and other anesthesia services. In addition, the CRNA Level III utilizes skills obtained through additional training, education and/or experience in the provision of anesthesia care to patients who present with complex and unique anesthetic requirements.

- Education:
BSN, MSN, DNP, and/or graduate diploma level certification required. Graduate from both an Accredited School of Nursing and School of Nurse Anesthesia. Certified by the NBCRNA as a CRNA and recognized by the state of practice as a CRNA. Must meet minimum continuing education requirements every four years of the NBCRNA. - Experience:
Previous experience is not necessary. Four to six week orientation period (working with preceptor) is required. Orientation period will depend on previous experience and clinical skills. - Licensure/certification/registration:
Current RN licensure in the appropriate state, required. Current CRNA endorsement in the appropriate state, required. NBCRNA certification, ACLS certification, BLS certification and PALS certification within NH policy, required. - Additional Skills/Requirements (required):
Must have extensive knowledge of current anesthetic agents, techniques, drugs and equipment. Knowledge and skills to modify the anesthetic plan of care suitable to patient age. Ability to make independent decisions, sometimes under stress, and to maintain a professional demeanor with patients, coworkers and physicians. Must be able to provide anesthesia care for all case types (excluding specialty teams such as heart and neonatal teams).
