Registered Nurse (PRN)
The Registered Nurse ( PRN ) functions as a member of a clinical team in the provision of health care in a fast‑paced college health center. Responsibilities include obtaining pertinent medical information during check‑in; educating patients; providing care and treatment to patients consistent with nursing practice and theory; and administering vaccinations and performing basic laboratory tests. The RN must demonstrate the ability to accurately assess a patient’s medical problem and may assume a lead role in the clinic whenever necessary.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements- Graduate of a state accredited school of professional nursing
- Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina, by the N.C. Board of Nursing
- Current CPR certification
- Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina, by the N.C. Board of Nursing
- Current CPR certification
Varies between 8:00 a.m.
- 5:00 p.m.
Varies between Monday - Friday
Anticipated Hiring Range$25 per hour
Special Instructions to ApplicantsPlease note, this is a temporary position. The length of the assignment will be based on department need with the possibility of continuation. Temporary assignments cannot exceed 11 consecutive months without a full 31‑day break from employment. Employees in temporary positions are not considered permanent state employees and do not earn leave. Temporary employees are subject to the Affordable Care Act guidelines.
