American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring Epic proficiency, charge nurse capability on nights, and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

• Acute care hospital Med/Surg unit serving adult and geriatric general medical/surgical patients
• Daily unit census of approximately 43 patients with a target nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6-7
• Procedures performed include insulin drips, heparin drips, wound vac dressing changes, high-flow oxygen, and occasional short-term BiPap with respiratory support
• No PCU-level patients on this unit
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 18:45–07:15
• 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
• Night shift travelers are required to fill a charge nurse role
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage is required
• On-call required for pre-scheduled call shifts
• Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations, including holding areas for inpatient overflow
• Documents using Epic (PYXIS) with SBAR communication standards
• Contract length: 13–26 weeks accepted

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN Med/Surg experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Demonstrated ability to manage insulin and heparin drips required
• Must be able to work holidays
• EKG testing must be passed prior to start
• CPI certification and charge nurse experience are preferred

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• Orientation is 24 hours
• Navy scrubs required; scrubs are not provided by the facility
• May care for COVID-positive patients
• Travelers will be assigned to an Inclement Weather Team and may be required to report to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters, including storm and hurricane team assignments
• Unit consolidation to a centralized location may occur mid-contract, with travelers potentially reassigned to units as needed
• RTO is not permitted after booking and cannot be arranged on-site; call-offs or additional RTO requests may result in contract cancellation
