To administer nursing care for and treat patients in the medical office, as directed by Physician, Advanced Clinical Provider, Registered Nurse or supervising department manager, by performing the following duties.
Duties/Responsibilities- Prepares patient for and assists with examinations.
- Administers injections and medications, dress wounds and incisions, provides accurate and consistent information to the patient using an established protocol, interprets Physician's instructions to patients, assists with emergency and minor procedures, and performs related tasks as directed.
- Performs daily counts / reconciliation.
- Ensures EMR accuracy with records of the NCIR for every visit.
- Unload and stock newly received vaccines and register them according to the NCIR.
- Collects patient data and maintains records of vital statistics and physiological/biological information in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
- Applies standardized check‑in components in daily workflow.
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments and equipment and maintains stock of supplies and medications.
- Ordering of supplies as needed for department.
- Conducts specified laboratory tests as needed.
- Administers nebulized breathing treatments.
- Acts as receptionist, performs secretarial duties, may communicate with insurance companies, and calling in/faxing prescriptions.
- Completes required school/sport/day care forms.
- Communicates with managed care for prior authorizations. Schedules procedures on campus and off site.
- Responsible to respond to/triage patient phone calls and messages as appropriate.
- Educates and instructs patients and their family members on any medications, treatment plans, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned within scope of practice for their license/certification.
- Active NC or Compact LPN License.
- Successfully completed and passed an accredited Practical Nursing Program.
- BLS/CPR Certification.
- One year clinical experience.
