Registered Nurse (RN) - Acute Care for Elders (ACE) FT – Day Shift (
Hours:
7 a.m. – 7 p.m.) – Weekend & Holidays per department guidelines. Wilmington, DE
Christiana Care – Wilmington Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our 8S Acute Care for Elders (ACE) Unit.
Responsibilities- Work closely to deliver care that supports elderly patients facing an acute illness, focusing on maintaining function, providing education, and ensuring safety.
- Engage in a relationship-based care model, building relationships with patients, families, and peers guided by our values of love and excellence.
- Assist in managing a team of five medical patients per shift and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (unit-based Nurse Practitioner, attending and consulted physicians, pharmacy, physical therapy, and other assistive personnel).
- Closely monitor patients, assess physical condition and safety risks, handle emergencies, and provide ongoing supportive care.
- Receive training in evidence-based care practices for older adults.
- DE RN License or Compact RN License.
- BSN or commitment to obtain within three years of hire date.
- Preferred: at least one year of RN experience in acute care (medical, surgical, or step-down).
- BLS required.
- Demonstrate a passion for working with older adults.

Hourly Pay Range: $41.28 – $66.05
