Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift - 36 hours per week - Full time - 3CMedicalStepdown

Christiana Care Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to work 36 hours per week on the Night Shift (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.) at our Christiana Hospital on the 3C Medical Unit Stepdown. Weekend and holidays are per department guidelines. The unit recently received the AACN Beacon Award for Excellence:
Silver.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver holistic patient care that is patient and family centered, ensuring comfort and positive outcomes.
  • Provide medication and disease process education to patients and families.
  • Closely monitor patients and manage any emergencies that may arise.
  • Manage a 4–5 patient assignment on the unit.
  • Perform telemetry monitoring, non‑ventilator trach collar and high‑flow nasal cannula management, wound care, and other tasks as needed.
  • Care for a range of diagnoses including Respiratory Failure, COPD, Acute Renal Failure, GI Bleed, DKA, Sepsis, and others.
  • Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team and peers.
Qualifications
  • BSN required. ADN candidates may be considered if committed to obtaining a BSN within three years of hire and have relevant experience.
  • At least one year of acute or sub‑acute care experience preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work professionally with an interdisciplinary team and peers.
  • Positive outlook and willingness to embrace change.
