- Shift / Schedule: Night Shift 12-hour nights, 18:45 07:15 (4x12); 36 or 48 hours accepted

This is a travel nursing contract position for a Registered Nurse on a Medical-Surgical unit serving adult and geriatric patients with a daily census of approximately 43. The unit manages general Med/Surg patients and performs specialized procedures including insulin drips, heparin drips, wound vac dressing changes, high flow oxygen, and occasionally limited short-term BiPAP with respiratory support. No additional training is needed for BiPAP;
the unit is appropriate for all Med/Surg nurses. No PCU-level patients are on this unit. Unit systems include PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR. Scheduling is per unit needs, with preferences relayed to management.
- Provide care for adult and geriatric general Med/Surg patients with a daily census of approximately 43.
- Administer and manage insulin drips and heparin drips.
- Perform wound vac dressing changes.
- Manage high flow oxygen and occasionally assist with limited short-term BiPAP with respiratory support.
- Assume charge nurse role as required for night shift travelers.
- Float to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding as required.
- Work every other weekend as assigned.
- Work holidays as required.
- Be prepared to potentially care for COVID patients.
- Serve as an assigned member of the Inclement Weather Team.
- Be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team; may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster.
- Be aware that consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur and contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.
- Fulfill call requirement if put on call during a prescheduled shift.
- Attend unit team meetings; meetings are scheduled for the 4th Wednesday of each month from January through October at 1730, and on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 1730 in November and December.
- Attend additional meetings for night shift staff conducted at 0730 on the Friday immediately following the Wednesday meetings.
- EPIC experience required
- Must be able to take insulin and heparin drips
- BCLS certification
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (18:45 07:15), 36 or 48 hours per week
- Ability to work holidays
- Ability to potentially care for COVID patients
- Ability to serve on an Inclement Weather Team, Storm Team, and/or Hurricane Team
- Ability to float to similar units and alternate care locations
- CPI certification
- Charge nurse experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- BCLS certification required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
- Locals accepted
- Night shift assignment (18:45 07:15, 12-hour shifts)
- Target patient ratio: 1:6 7
- Assigned to every other weekend
- Call required if put on call during a prescheduled shift
- Floating to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding
- Unit orientation: 24 hours

- RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite; any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could possibly result in a cancellation and DNR
- RTO: 7 days maximum for AYA Auto Offer
- Must be able to work holidays

- All travelers and staff are required to attend unit team meetings. Meeting invitations will be distributed and added to work calendars accordingly. Meetings are scheduled for the 4th Wednesday of each month from January through October at 1730; in November and December, meetings will instead be held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month itional meetings for night shift staff will be conducted at 0730 on the Friday immediately following the Wednesday meetings.
