The primary purpose of the Night Nurse Manager is to administratively and clinically supervise the clinical operations for the Walter
B. Jones Center (WBJ) under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer. This position is delegated with significant managerial or programmatic responsibility that is essential to the successful operation of WBJ. The Night Nurse Manager has the responsibility of managing, supervising, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating evening services provided by WBJ Center in order to assure the quality of care delivered throughout the hospital.
This position also serves as the Triage Nurse.
- Knowledge of management and supervisory methods, practices and procedures.
- Ability to plan, organize, and supervise the work of healthcare staff.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, techniques, and practices.
- Ability to actively seek to coach and mentor staff.
Evenings/Night (6:45pm – 7:15am):
Monday – Friday 20%, Saturday and Sunday 30%.
- The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date).
- The employee has previously received a sign‑on bonus from any State agency.
- DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
The Walter
B. Jones Center operates two adult inpatient treatment programs on site in Greenville, NC: (1) Woodside Treatment Center and (2) Lakeside Psychiatric Hospital. The primary purpose and mission of the Walter
B. Jones Center is “To provide inpatient treatment, psychiatric stabilization and medical detoxification for individuals with mental health, substance use and other co‑occurring psychiatric diagnoses for ongoing community based treatment and recovery.” The Center is accredited by the Joint Commission and SAMHSA/CSAT. Two specialty programs are offered to all 100 NC Counties:
- Inpatient Opioid Treatment for adults.
- Inpatient Perinatal Services for women in their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters with substance use disorders.
Hiring salary will be based on relevant qualifications, internal equity, and budgetary considerations pertinent to the advertised position. Positions in the Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities shall be subject to pre‑employment drug testing and criminal record background checks. Also, the use of tobacco products of any kind including vapor products is prohibited from our campuses. All employees are required to adhere to the facility's Vaccination Policy.
