Description Of WorkThe primary purpose of the Night Nurse Manager is to administratively and clinically supervise the clinical operations for the Walter
B. Jones Center (WBJ) under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer. This position is delegated with significant managerial or programmatic responsibility that is essential to the successful operation of WBJ. The Night Nurse Manager has the responsibility of managing, supervising, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating evening services provided by the WBJ Center in order to assure the quality of care delivered throughout the hospital.
This position also serves as the Triage Nurse.
- Administer and supervise clinical operations of the WBJ Center.
- Manage, coordinate, and evaluate evening services to maintain high‑quality care.
- Serve as the Triage Nurse, ensuring timely assessment of incoming patients.
- Plan, organize, and supervise the work of healthcare staff.
- Coach and mentor staff, actively seeking their professional development.
- Knowledge of management and supervisory methods, practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, techniques, and practices.
Recruitment Range: $71,698.00 – $.
A sign‑on bonus of $10,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025‑2026 Budget Approval.
Sign‑On Bonus Eligibility- Must be a newly hired permanent full‑time or permanent part‑time employee working 30 to 40 hours per week.
- Employees working less than 40 hours a week receive a prorated rate.
- Not eligible if:
- Held a position in the NC State government, the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months.
- Previously received a sign‑on bonus from any State agency.
- DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
- Evenings/Night (6:45 pm – 7:15 am):
Monday‑Friday 20%, Saturday and Sunday 30%
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and two years of nursing experience.
Per G.S. 126‑5(c1) (37)This position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7.
