Role Description The Registered Nurse Assistant Director of Nursing is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Wilmington, NC. This position supports the Director of Nursing in overseeing clinical operations, coordinating nursing services, and ensuring high standards of resident care across all units. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising nursing staff, assisting with scheduling, monitoring quality metrics, and reinforcing policies and procedures related to infection control, medication management, and documentation.

The role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans, participating in resident and family meetings, and supporting regulatory compliance and survey readiness. The Assistant Director of Nursing also mentors nursing team members, provides guidance on clinical best practices, and helps drive continuous improvement initiatives in a long-term care environment.
Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in Nursing and Medicine, with the ability to provide and oversee evidence-based clinical care.
• Strong Nursing Management skills, including staff supervision, scheduling, coaching, and performance development.
• Experience with Infection Control practices, including prevention, monitoring, and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Background in Long-term Care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation settings, with understanding of resident-centered care.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• Previous leadership experience in a nursing supervisory or management role preferred.
• Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations and survey processes.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills for working with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate documentation, and support a safe, inclusive work environment.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; advanced education or certifications in gerontology or leadership are a plus.
