What You'll Do:
- Deliver specialized nursing care to critically ill adult patients in a high-acuity Medical Intensive Care Unit.
- Care for patients with complex medical conditions, including sepsis, respiratory failure, renal failure, shock, multi-organ dysfunction, diabetic emergencies, gastrointestinal bleeds, and other critical illnesses.
- Manage patients requiring mechanical ventilation, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), vasoactive infusions, arterial lines, central venous catheters, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, recognize subtle changes in condition, and initiate timely interventions using evidence-based critical care practices.
- Collaborate with intensivists, physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized plans of care.
- Respond rapidly to medical emergencies while utilizing critical thinking and advanced clinical judgment.
- Educate patients and families throughout the continuum of care while providing compassionate, patient-centered support.
- Maintain accurate, detailed documentation and contribute to quality improvement initiatives that promote exceptional patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or ADN required.
- Current valid North Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact license required.
- One year of ICU, critical care, Emergency Department, or relevant acute care nursing experience preferred.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required or obtained within organizational guidelines.
