RN Nurse, Emergency Medicine, Surgical Assistant
Registered Nurse – Orthopedic/Neuro/Trauma
Shift: 12-hour nights Options: 36 or 48 hours accepted Weekend:
Assigned every other weekend
Patient Population:
Adult trauma/ortho patients including TBI, spine injuries, subdural hematoma, ortho trauma, and general surgical overflow.
Minimum of 2 years RN experience in the last 5 years Active RN license BLS certification required; ACLS preferred Epic documentation experience required Target patient ratio: 1:5-6 Specific clinical skills include:
- Heparin drips and vaso/drip management
- Blood product administration
- Central/PICC/peripheral line care and IV starts
- Phlebotomy
- Chest tube and surgical drain care
- Colostomy/feeding tube care and management
- Tracheostomy care, non-invasive airway support, and oral suctioning
- Dysrhythmia recognition/management and telemetry experience
- Wound care including wound vac, ortho trauma care, TBI/spinal cord injury support
Orientation: 12-hour unit orientation + 16-hour organizational education RTO policy:
Up to 7 days auto-approved (no holidays), no RTO during the first week, must work 2 of 3 major holidays, pre-approved RTO required Pre-employment testing required to be completed within 48 hours of signing COVID-19 vaccination is not required; flu vaccination is required (exemptions accepted) EKG testing must be passed prior to start for this specialty Required testing and orientation must be completed to prevent impact on assignment.
