American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg-Neuro RN with a NC or compact license for a night shift position requiring 2 years of neuro experience.

• Hospital-based Medical Surgical
  - Neuro unit
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:45-07:15), with 36 or 48 hour options accepted
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within/near the facility
• Uses Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR communication methods
• 24 hours of unit orientation provided

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience required
• Neuro unit experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• Experience with CVA, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line management
• Non-invasive airway management and nasal cannula experience
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

• Provide medical-surgical nursing care to neurological patient population
• May be assigned to a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters
• Contract staff may be reassigned to other units as needed during a consolidation event
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved if not on a holiday; no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a local rate
• Former Novant Health/New Hanover employees (PERM/PRN/EP) must wait 12 months before applying, with facility approval required
• Travel pairs allowed if on different units with separate transportation and schedules
