American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RN for a night shift hospital position requiring 2 years of experience and a NC or compact RN license.

• Hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit with isolation care for COVID patients and multi-level care including stepdown support
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Night shift, 3x12 hours,
• 36 or 48 hour contracts accepted, 13-26 week contract lengths considered
• Floating required as needed
• Every other weekend required
• Uses Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR communication systems
• Contract staff may be assigned to Storm Team/Hurricane Team and required to report during catastrophic events or disasters

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, peripheral line care, heparin protocols, PCA, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, isolation precautions/PPE, wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols and titration, and non-invasive airway management
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

• Provide direct patient care to a multi-level Med/Surg Telemetry population
• 24-hour unit orientation with hospital orientation during week 1 requiring daily class attendance
• Navy scrubs required
• Must complete pre-start and annual online learning modules (8-10 hours for acute care roles)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous Novant Health or New Hanover PERM/PRN/EP employees must wait 12 months before applying and disclose employment history for facility approval
• Current travel per diem clinicians at this facility must choose between per diem or travel status
• Up to 7 days of RTO auto-approved (not on holidays); no RTO allowed during first week of assignment
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Travel pairs allowed if on different units with separate transportation
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a local rate
