We are an active real estate development company based in Wilmington, NC focused on the acquisition, entitlement, financing, and construction of high-quality residential and mixed‑use projects. Our team is hands‑on, fast‑moving, and deeply involved in every phase of the development lifecycle. We are seeking an Assistant Development Manager who wants broad exposure and meaningful responsibility across all aspects of development.
Position OverviewThe Assistant Development Manager will support the execution of development projects from initial feasibility through construction completion and stabilization. This role offers direct exposure to senior leadership and provides the opportunity to grow into a Development Manager role over time.
The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, financially literate, organized, and eager to take ownership of tasks in a lean team environment.
Key Responsibilities Acquisition & Feasibility- Assist with market research, site due diligence, and competitive analysis
- Coordinate third‑party reports (survey, environmental, geotechnical, etc.)
- Track contract timelines and due diligence deliverables
- Support zoning and permitting efforts with local municipalities
- Prepare materials for neighborhood meetings and planning board submissions
- Track approval milestones and manage consultant deliverables
- Coordinate with civil engineers, architects, and land planners
- Support coordination between development and construction teams
- Track project schedules, budgets, and change orders
- Assist with pay applications and cost reporting
- Help manage punch lists and project close‑out
- Assist with lease‑up tracking and performance reporting
- Support transition to property management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Construction Management, or related field required
- 1–4 years of experience in real estate development, construction, brokerage, banking, or related field preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Self‑starter with entrepreneurial mindset
- Direct exposure to all phases of development
- Significant growth potential in a small team environment
