Position SummaryThe Water Institute at UNC was established in 2009 within the Gillings School of Global Public Health. The Institute works to create a more water‑secure world through research, policy, and practice. This position supports research communication and community engagement activities for two of the UNC Water Institute’s Communities of Practice (CoPs): the WASH in Healthcare Facilities (HCF) CoP and the WASH Circuit Riders (CR) CoP.
The role serves as the operational lead for both CoPs, coordinating approximately 18 bimonthly webinars per year, managing all communications channels, and producing knowledge products that translate technical content into accessible content for a global practitioner audience. The position will also support other members of the Water Institute team in research and evidence‑building activities related to the CoPs, including supporting data collection through qualitative interviews and focus groups, disseminating surveys and analyzing results, and compiling evidence through systematic reviews.
- Coordinate and serve as operational lead for the WASH in Healthcare Facilities and WASH Circuit Riders Communities of Practice.
- Plan and execute approximately 18 bimonthly webinars per year.
- Manage all communications channels for the CoPs.
- Produce knowledge products that translate technical research into accessible content for global practitioners.
- Support data collection through qualitative interviews and focus groups.
- Disseminate surveys and analyze results.
- Compile evidence through systematic reviews.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and at least one year of related training or experience.
- All degrees obtained from accredited institutions.
- Experience conducting qualitative research using semi‑structured interviews, focus groups, or thematic analysis.
- Experience conducting or supporting systematic or scoping reviews, including developing search strategies, screening records, extracting and synthesizing data, and reporting findings per PRISMA or similar guidelines.
- Experience using qualitative data management software such as NVivo, ATLAS.ti, Dedoose, or equivalent.
- Experience with survey design or analysis using Qualtrics or similar platforms.
- Experience coordinating virtual events or webinars using Zoom or comparable platforms, including managing registration, cloud recording, or post‑event archiving.
