Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The employee will support stable isotope analyses for trophic ecology studies. Duties will include organizing and tracking samples; preparing samples for bulk tissue and amino acid-specific stable isotope analysis; performing acid hydrolysis and amino acid derivatization; preparing standards, reagents, and analytical sequences; operating EA- IRMS and GC-C- IRMS instrumentation under supervision; conducting routine laboratory organization and consumables management; and assisting with data reduction, quality assurance/quality control, documentation, and compilation of analytical results.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- BS in Biology, Chemistry, Marine Biology, or a related field.
- Previous laboratory experience is required.
Experience with stable isotope analysis, mass spectrometry, amino acid derivatization, and stable isotope data processing is preferred.
