Operations Dispatcher (Part-Time)

Wilmington, NC
Job Type: Part‑time
Pay: $16.45 per hour
Wilmington International Airport (ILM) is growing 75% and is seeking a part‑time Operations Dispatcher to support airport operations 24/7/365.
ResponsibilitiesReports to the shift supervisor and is responsible for:
- Answering all incoming emergency and non‑emergency calls to the Public Safety Office and dispatching personnel accordingly.
- Maintaining department files and keeping computer entries up‑to‑date.
- Monitoring airport security cameras and the access‑control system and dispatching officers or operations personnel to alarms.
- Maintaining radio communications with all airport staff as required.
- Performing all emergency‑related duties as required.
- Serving as TSA Trusted Agent when required.
- Understanding internal and external airport customers and meeting their expectations through quality service aligned with the airport’s Mission, Values, and Vision.
- Physical Demands: Exposure to aircraft noise, fuels, chemicals and construction. Requires frequent standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and walking. Possible exposure to inclement weather.
- Working Conditions: Work hours are routinely 24 hours per week. Must be willing to work any shift, including weekends and holidays, and may need longer hours to complete assignments.
- Education / Knowledge: High School diploma or GED. Valid North Carolina Class “C” driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; ability to obtain Class “A” license.
- Experience: Previous dispatcher experience is preferred. Airline or aviation‑related experience also preferred.
- Skills / Aptitudes: Must react quickly and calmly in emergencies and be able to perform basic physical tasks such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling and lifting.
- 24‑hour work week (initial 8‑week training will be 30 hours)
- Day shift, night shift, holidays, overtime, and weekends as needed.
- Shift options:
Fri, Sun, Mon: 12 P‑8 P or Thu, Fri, Sun, Mon: 12 P‑6 P.
- Employee Airline Ticket Stipend.
