Responsibilities
- Serve as telephone communications source for the medical center.
- Provide after‑hours paging for numerous physician groups and adapt to ongoing changes in individual practices.
- Act as dispatcher for medical center police officers.
- Monitor the surveillance cameras and alert hospital police to potential issues.
- Monitor alarms such as fire, code blue, ERT, RRT and others and alert the appropriate personnel.
- Serve as hospital’s 911 operator and activate reverse 911 paging when directed.
- Monitor doors designated as “access controlled”.
- Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. - Required:
Obtain International Academies Emergency Dispatch’s Basic Emergency Telecommunicator Certification or an equivalent certification approved by CVMC Communications and Corporate Safety & Security departments within nine months of employment.
- Required:
No previous experience required. Given training, proficiency in all basic aspects expected within three months of employment. - Preferred:
Experience with standard switchboard and computer usage.
