Temporary Position: This is a temporary assignment subject to department needs; no permanent status or leave benefits.

Job Overview: The University of North Carolina Wilmington is hiring a Facilities General Maintenance & Roofing Technician to perform carpentry and painting tasks, pressure washing, scraping hand rails, light carpentry, and other maintenance duties as directed by the supervisor. The role may require working during adverse weather conditions and assisting with snow, ice, or debris removal.

• Apply methods and general procedures of the carpentry and painting trade.
• Utilize techniques, tools, materials, and equipment appropriate to the trade.
• Pressure wash, scrape hand rails, paint, and perform light carpentry tasks.
• Carry out any other general maintenance duties assigned by the supervisor.
• Assist in removal of snow, ice, or debris when required and may be required to report to work during adverse weather.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some general maintenance experience.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license, or ability to obtain within 30 days.

• Knowledge of basic maintenance machinery and equipment.
• Comfortable with light carpentry and painting tasks.

• Work Days:
  Monday to Friday
• Hours Per Week: 40
• Pay: $20 per hour (anticipated)
