Job SummaryWe are seeking a full‑time HVAC Mechanic for our contract located at the Alton Lennon Federal Building, Wilmington, NC. This is a union position. The hourly pay rate is $39.14 per hour, with an additional Health and Welfare Pay of $6.50 per hour up to 40 hours per week (not to exceed 2,080 hours per year). HVAC mechanics certified under Nate will earn $41.20 per hour.
The position offers vacation, sick leave, paid holidays, and a pension plan in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement. Working schedule:
Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 4:30 pm.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on boilers, chillers, hot‑water heating systems, domestic water plumbing systems, air handlers, VAV components, and other HVAC equipment.
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Support the contract at the Alton Lennon Federal Building, Wilmington, NC.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience working with large commercial heating and air conditioning equipment.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Universal EPA or CFC certification required.
- Technical training in HVAC highly desired.
- Ability to obtain Nate Certification within six months of employment.
- Union membership and acceptance of collective bargaining agreement terms.
