Role Description The Electrical Estimator role is a full-time, on-site position based in Wilmington, NC. This role is responsible for reviewing plans and specifications, preparing detailed cost estimates, and developing bid proposals for commercial electrical projects. Day-to-day tasks include performing material and labor takeoffs, analyzing project requirements, coordinating with project managers and field teams, and working with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing.

The Electrical Estimator will track and update cost data, assist with budget development, and help ensure that bids meet company standards for accuracy and competitiveness. The role also involves maintaining organized documentation, adhering to safety and regulatory requirements, and supporting the contracting team throughout the project life cycle.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Electrical Estimating and Cost Control, including preparing accurate takeoffs, budgets, and bid proposals.
  • Candidates should possess a solid understanding of Electrical Code, Installation, best practices, and project workflows in commercial and industrial construction environments.
  • Candidates should possess foundational knowledge of Electricity and Electrical Engineering principles relevant to commercial power distribution and lighting systems.
  • Relevant experience in commercial and industrial electrical construction, with familiarity reading blueprints, specifications, and codes.
  • Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and general computer applications. Accubd, Bluebeam, and Spectrum are a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with project managers, field supervisors, and vendors.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or an associate degree in electrical technology, construction management, or related field is preferred.
