Field Service Technician

Optomi, in partnership with a leading energy company, is looking for a Field Service Technician to support telecommunications infrastructure and field operations throughout Eastern North Carolina.

The Field Service Technician will provide hands-on telecommunications installation, deployment, troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational support across customer and utility locations throughout Eastern North Carolina. This is a field-based role requiring a strong telecommunications background, technical versatility, independence, and a willingness to travel extensively. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of telecommunications field experience and hands-on experience with fiber optics, microwave systems, radio technologies, and data networking.

• Working independently in a hands-on field environment
• Supporting a variety of telecommunications technologies
• Traveling throughout Eastern North Carolina and working at different customer locations
• Troubleshooting and resolving complex field issues

• 5+ years of telecommunications field service experience
• Strong hands-on installation and field deployment experience
• Experience with fiber optics, microwave systems, radio technologies, and data networking
• Experience supporting telecommunications installations and operations
• Strong troubleshooting and maintenance experience
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
• Experience supporting utility environments or utility customers is preferred
• Broad technical exposure across multiple telecommunications technologies
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout Eastern North Carolina
• Comfortable participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation, including nights, weekends, and emergency support

• Install, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain telecommunications equipment and systems
• Support fiber optic, microwave, radio, and data networking technologies
• Perform field installations and equipment deployments at customer and utility locations
• Diagnose and resolve telecommunications and networking issues in the field
• Provide ongoing operational and maintenance support for communications infrastructure
• Travel throughout Eastern North Carolina to support customer locations and field operations
• Report to the Raleigh warehouse to collect equipment and materials before traveling to job sites as needed
• Work independently while maintaining strong communication with the broader Field Services organization
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and respond to emergency service needs
• Provide professional, service-oriented support to customers and internal teams
