Overview

This Staff Engineer will advise both junior & mid‑level programmers, propose maintainable solutions, identify best practices and troubleshoot the most difficult issues. The engineer will have advanced programming skills, natural leadership, creativity, and great communication.

  • Design and implement features
  • Provide support for items escalated by tech support
  • Stay on top of current trends in technology, bring new ideas to the team and propose innovative solutions to our problems
Responsibilities
  • Provide mentorship and assistance to teammates
  • Actively participate in backlog refinement in order to help the team determine best solution
  • Complete development tasks on time with exceptional attention to quality, performance, best practices, and coding standards
  • Document progress, discussions, and scope changes in Jira
  • Lead software deployments
  • Own the most difficult tasks and document the solution
  • Work with the quality assurance team to resolve defects found during sprints
  • Be responsible, reliable and responsive

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields
  • 10+ years of software development experience using the following technologies: C#, SQL Server, JavaScript and Azure
  • 6+ years of experience working on large, scalable applications with complex business logic
  • Preferred technology experience:
    Entity Framework, .NET 8, work with microservice architecture, Redis, MS SQL, NUnit, REST APIs, understanding of Azure functions or similar technology, and experience with event driven architecture
  • Demonstrated leadership experience preferred
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools for coding (i.e. – Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf).
