Oak Grove Technologies, LLC is a dynamic, fast‑growing federal contractor seeking highly skilled and experienced FPV Drone Pilot/Instructors. Candidates should be passionate about FPV flying and possess a comprehensive understanding of FPV systems, components, and flight theory.
Military Small UAS Experience (Highly Valued)Part‑time (1099) and full‑time instructors are being hired. Candidates with prior military small UAS experience, especially those who have operated UAS in tactical environments, supported mission planning, reconnaissance, training operations, or integrated UAS with maneuver elements, will have a strong foundation for instruction within OGT’s structured, performance‑driven FPV training programs.
Requirements- Conduct FPV drone troubleshooting, inspections, repairs, and component replacements as necessary.
- Communicate and train new pilots on safe FPV piloting practices and procedures.
- Thoroughly understand Aeronautical Decision‑Making.
- Demonstrate moderate to advanced Acro Mode flying skills with precision maneuvering.
- Provide instruction and guidance on FPV race techniques, free styling, videography flying, and other advanced maneuvers.
- Utilize current FPV VTX systems and radio theory knowledge to enhance pilot training.
- Program and use OpenTX (Tango II), TBS Crossfire, and Beta flight software effectively.
- Bind, troubleshoot, and modify/program to the current OGT Chimera build standard.
- Have basic soldering and fabrication skills to construct drones to the build standard.
- Demonstrate expertise in FPV systems and flight theory, including RC RX/TX, flight controllers, cameras, motors, propellers, and peripherals.
- Provide coaching and support to new FPV pilots, guiding them through the early stages of progression.
- Prior U.S. military experience operating small UAS in training, deployment, or operational environments.
- Experience supporting tactical mission planning, ISR operations, reconnaissance, or aerial overwatch.
- Familiarity with military operational risk management (ORM) processes and safety standards.
- Experience briefing leaders or training personnel on UAS capabilities and limitations.
- Understanding of DoD training environments, evaluation processes, and performance standards.
- Experience operating in austere or field conditions.
- Extensive experience in FPV drone building, repair, and flying.
- Advanced Acro Mode flying skills, with precision.
- FPV racing experience is beneficial; free styling and videography flying experience is highly desired.
- Proficiency in Beta flight and familiarity with Ardupilot/PX4 is a plus.
- Experience with 3D printing and soldering techniques.
- Effective communication and teaching of FPV piloting skills.
- FAA Part 107 License is a plus but not required.
- FPV training experience is highly desired.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to obtain a SECRET Security Clearance.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks such as standing, walking, using hands, reaching, kneeling, or crawling.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a SECRET Security Clearance.
