Senior QA Engineer

Selby Jennings is working with a 50-person fintech startup that is looking to add a Senior/Lead QA Engineer to build the firm's first test automation infrastructure
. The company is backed by a leading hedge fund group and is seeking a highly technical QA professional to build and scale the testing culture across the organization.

• Define and own the overall QA strategy for manual and automated testing across all product areas.
• Collaborate with engineering managers, product owners, and developers to embed quality at every stage of the SDLC.
• Prioritize the team's workload and manage QA efforts across concurrent feature streams and bug-fix cycles.
• Build robust automation scripts to test business functionality, including standard and custom objects, workflows, APIs, and integrations.
• Continuously increase automation coverage by identifying gaps, writing new test suites, and refactoring brittle tests.
• Define the QA playbook, including SOPs, bug severity rubrics, release checklists, and quality metrics that future team members will follow.

• 3-7+ years of experience in a similar QA or test automation-adjacent role.
• Experience with modern automation frameworks (such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, etc.).
• Experience with Java, Python, C#, or Java Script .
• Hands-on experience with a loan origination system (
  Encompass, Empower, Byte, etc.) is highly desirable

• $125,000-$150,000 base salary + cash bonus
