POSITION SUMMARY

Instructs members in a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment that promotes member wellness and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Assists with development and implementation of member engagement.

POSITION TYPE

Part-time, non-exempt

WAGE RANGE

$12.44 - $15.55/hr.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.

Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.

Sets members up on equipment and documents exercise program/ equipment on tracking sheets.

Assists members living with disabilities.

Is a team player and attends staff meetings and trainings, as required.

Maintains open communications with supervisor.

Assist in maintaining equipment and informing Director of any breakage or items needing replacement

Is responsible for covering their shift. Any substitutes should be communicated to Director/coordinator.

Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be 18 years of age. GED preferred.
Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED
Ability to work independently and in a group setting.
Basic knowledge of computers.
At least one year of experience coaching preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to demonstrate various cardio and strength equipment.

Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting a minimum 45lbs.
