Cost Accountant

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to support manufacturing operations through accurate cost analysis, inventory reporting, and financial insights. This role plays a key part in driving operational efficiency, improving cost controls, and supporting business performance through data-driven reporting.

• Prepare, analyze, and record manufacturing and inventory-related transactions
• Review standard vs. actual costs and investigate variances
• Maintain accurate inventory records and perform monthly reconciliations
• Prepare weekly manufacturing efficiency and productivity reports
• Develop operational and financial analysis reports, including scrap, rework, warranty, margin, and performance trends
• Perform variance analysis and communicate significant findings to management
• Support process engineering updates and ensure accurate costing revisions
• Analyze bills of materials for cost accuracy and proper coding
• Prepare and record fixed asset transactions
• Assist with budgeting and standard cost updates
• Support cycle count audits and inventory controls
• Assist with internal and external audits as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 2–5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail
• Solid understanding of GAAP and accounting procedures
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems preferred
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information with integrity
