Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Education.
  • Preferred:
    Supervisor’s certificate/Administrative Specialist license (curriculum, instruction, & professional development) or Administrator’s license.
  • Five (5) or more years of teaching experience.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Current driver’s license and reliable transportation.
General Description

Provide consultative services to teachers and administrators regarding curriculum implementation and professional development in the following teaching and learning areas: intensive and sustained support for improvement; standards-based education; strategies for effective instruction; staff development; leadership and facilitation in school improvement initiatives; statewide legislative and Ohio Department of Education and Workforce initiatives.

Essential Functions
  • Development, organization, implementation, and coordination of professional development.
  • Facilitate curriculum implementation.
  • Align work to the specific components of school improvement initiatives and/or assignments.
  • Assist districts and schools in analyzing data for data-driven decision making.
  • Provide instructional and curriculum leadership for program development in academic content areas based on standards.
  • Provide coaching & support teams in the process of data analysis to adjust instruction to assist districts to be equipped to ensure that all students meet and exceed state standards.
  • Preview, introduce, and present quality programs, resources and strategies for effective instruction.
  • Assist teachers in the improvement of instructional strategies.
  • Provide districts with entry-year teacher and mentor programming to support educators new to the field of education.
  • Assist school district leadership with development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of continuous improvement plans.
  • Assist school leadership with training and professional development around Ohio’s Evaluation Systems.
  • Provide leadership to SOESC or SOESC/district partnership projects, including networking opportunities, to promote sharing of innovative and successful instructional resources and strategies among educators.
  • Work closely with principals and lead teachers to improve the quality of instruction, assessment, and data analysis.
  • Promote sharing of innovative and successful instructional resources and strategies among educators.
  • Actively seek input from identified customers to determine short and long range goals, objectives and staff/student needs.
  • Assume responsibility for maintaining professional knowledge in appropriate areas of education.
  • Participate in the writing of grants for state and federal programs, when appropriate.
  • Provide professional development to member school districts when requested.
  • Participate in relevant committee meetings to improve student and teacher performance.
  • Comprehension of Google Workspace applications and other applications such as Zoom, etc.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform all duties in conformity to the adopted Vision and Mission statements.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
  • Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.
  • Maintain required certificate(s) and/or license(s).
  • Participate in ongoing Professional Development and attend appropriate workshops and professional meetings.

  • Fully understands and abides by the Ohio Revised Codes regulations for reporting child abuse and/or neglect.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of:
    Board policies and procedures; ODEW operating standards; public relations; instructional techniques and methods; formative and summative assessments; leadership skills; research and evidence based practices and programs; training programs; state academic content standards; alignment and pacing guides; coaching; state accountability system.
