R+L Carriers has an opening for a Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis in our Wilmington, OH Service Center office.

Full-Time

We are seeking a highly analytical and business-minded Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis to help build and strengthen our Financial Planning & Analysis function. This role will partner closely with the Corporate Controller, VP of Accounting & Finance, and operational leaders to support financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and business performance analysis.

The successful candidate will have a strong desire to understand the business beyond the financial statements, build collaborative relationships across the organization, and continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and decision making. This individual enjoys solving complex business problems, translating financial data into actionable insights, and contributing to a team-first culture built on integrity, accountability, and servant leadership. This position will initially report to the Corporate Controller to develop a strong understanding of the Company's financial systems and processes while working closely with the VP of Accounting & Finance on strategic initiatives, business partnership, and the continued development of the FP&A function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, including variance analysis and executive summaries.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives and operational decision making.
  • Analyze revenue, operating expenses, labor costs, capital investments, and key performance indicators to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Partner with department leaders to develop budgets, improve financial performance, and support informed business decisions.
  • Assist with capital expenditure planning, business case development, and return on investment analyses.
  • Support month-end close by collaborating with the Accounting team to improve forecast accuracy and financial reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting, processes, automation, and data quality through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Present financial analyses and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Seven to ten years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, financial analysis, or related finance leadership roles.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling and scenario analysis.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate financial information effectively to non‑financial audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, collaborate across functions, and influence decision making.
  • Proven ability to take ownership, exercise sound judgment, and maintain a positive, team‑oriented attitude.
Preferred
  • MBA and/or CPA designation.
  • Experience in transportation, logistics, or other asset‑intensive industries.
  • Experience with business intelligence and visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range strategic planning.
