We are seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Commercial Lines Account Assistant to join our team. This role supports Account Executives and Account Managers in handling and processing new, renewal, and service requests for commercial lines business. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, customer-focused, and capable of maintaining accurate documentation while ensuring timely service delivery.
Position SummaryThe Commercial Lines Account Assistant plays a key role in maintaining operational efficiency and delivering a high standard of customer service. This position reports to the Account Executive Pod Leader.
Key Responsibilities- Provide in-house customer service to clients as assigned and requested.
- Receive and respond to client and carrier inquiries regarding insurance, claims, or administrative matters.
- Coordinate expirations with Account Executive and/or Account Manager to obtain renewal or new business information.
- Assist in marketing new and renewal business, determine premiums, and prepare presentation packets.
- Process policy changes, endorsements, certificates of insurance, and billing transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure timely delivery of policies and related documents to clients.
- Maintain electronic records in an orderly, up-to-date manner.
- Ensure all service activities and communications are properly documented in the agency management system.
- Coordinate with Account Executive and/or Account Manager to compile and prepare comprehensive renewal packets, including updated policy information, marketing materials, and client-specific documentation.
- Check new and renewal policies for accuracy in rating, typing, coverages, and signatures.
- Follow agency E&O guidelines and maintain a suspense system for follow-ups.
- Perform special projects as requested by management.
- Support other functional areas as needed to ensure balanced workload and coverage during peak periods.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Thorough understanding of commercial lines underwriting and coverages.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a similar position preferred.
- Must be licensed per state requirements.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods.
- Professional appearance required for public-facing responsibilities.
- EOS experience preferred but not required
