- Is responsible for day-to-day janitorial functions such as cleaning, polishing, sanitizing, sweeping, vacuuming, etc., of all environmental surfaces in common areas, ensuring that established Infection Control practices and safety precautions are followed at all times.
- Ensures that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner.
- Reports all accidents, incidents, hazardous conditions or equipment to the supervisor and keeps work areas free of hazardous objects. Ensures equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored at all times.
- Ensures an adequate supply of required cleaning supplies is maintained and notifies the supervisor when supplies are needed.
- Reports maintenance issues, such as burned out light bulbs or faulty lights, to the Community Manager or Maintenance Staff as soon as possible.
- Performs thorough cleaning in apartments on turnovers as assigned.
- Assists in ensuring that the building grounds are maintained in an attractive appearance and empties trash cans as needed.
- Performs annual carpet cleaning in main traffic areas of occupied units as assigned.
- Provides outstanding customer service to all customers in accordance with ERS’s expectations and values.
- Is able to read, write and communicate effectively in English; has the ability to see and hear or use prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately to meet the requirements of this position.
- Capable of reading and following written and oral instructions concerning cleaning compounds and methods.
- Is at least 18 years of age.
- Moves equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 150 lbs. occasionally.
- Is able and willing to work independently with flexibility and integrity, and to work harmoniously with team members, clients, family members, volunteers, government agencies, and the general public.
- Is able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
- Has transportation to travel to different communities within the local area.
- Participates in departmental studies and projects as directed and attends departmental and staff meetings as directed.
