Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Day shift C crew rotating 2‑2‑3 schedule: 6:45 PM–7:00 AM. This role requires wearing personal protective equipment, lifting a minimum of 50 lbs, and moving large, cumbersome product and equipment. Most roles require standing for a full shift with breaks.
The candidate must work in a manufacturing environment where temperatures may vary. A successful candidate must confirm the ability to perform work‑related physical tasks by completing a physical abilities test.
Core Responsibilities- Ensure production lines and other equipment are maintained and run at all times
- Assist in developing and prioritizing work orders with the Maintenance Manager, Production Supervision, and Line Leads
- Complete work order requests as defined by the Maintenance Manager, Production Management/Supervision, and/or Operators
- Support workplace organization programs (6S) and production efficiency programs (TPM)
- Assist, coach, and train operators in daily preventative maintenance (CIL) checks
- Support and assist preventative maintenance process on the shift
- Contribute and assist in line commissioning after maintenance/process events
- Assist and participate with other plant projects as needed
- Operate in a manner that provides value to the team
- Perform additional duties as needed and/or assigned by supervision/management
Maintenance Technician II – III
Experience & Technical Expertise5+ years of hands‑on experience in industrial maintenance or a related field.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing electrical cabinets, relays, contractors, and solid‑state relays/cards
- PLC and HMI systems (troubleshooting and minor programming adjustments)
- 3‑phase 480 V motors, 24 V DC control systems, and electrical tracing
- Conveyors, rollers, bearings, and gearboxes
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including material transfer systems
- Proximity sensors, photo‑eyes, light curtains, and basic robotics
- Fabrication skills: work in tight spaces and maintain high quality at a fast pace
- Track and lace conveyor belts, clear jams, and respond to line calls
- General maintenance tasks such as filter changes, cleanouts, and resolving material transfer issues
- Arc Flash trained with a strong understanding of electrical safety protocols
- Highly safety‑oriented with a commitment to maintaining a hazard‑free work environment
- Proficient in proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
- Hand and power tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment
- Certified or experienced in operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts
- Strong electrical aptitude preferred
- Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Adaptable and quick‑thinking; able to adjust on the fly and ask the right questions
- Motivated to push personal and team growth
- Strong communication skills; able to collaborate across departments
- Self‑directed, dependable, and capable of working independently or in a team
- Electrical or Industrial Maintenance Certification
- Structural welding certification
- Forklift and aerial lift certification
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- Advanced education and/or related‑certification(s), a plus
- Certification & Licences:
- Will meet qualification and certification requirements established by Timber Tech’s Training & Resources and Knowledge (TRAK) program
- Completion of two‑year Maintenance Certification course
- Stick and wire welding experience required with structural welding certification, a plus
- Forklift experience required with the ability to complete TT Forklift Certification program
