Schedule is 6:45 AM to 7 PM on a 2/2/3 schedule.
Job SummaryThe AZEK Company/Timbertech Wilmington division is seeking a Grinder Operator for the Wood Plant. The Grinder Operator is responsible for removing all scrap material from production lines and running it through grinding equipment for reuse in the manufacturing process. The role ensures the dust‑collection system is emptied as needed and that regrind/blending lines are supplied with regrind material. If you are a high‑energy, motivated individual who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, this position may be a good fit.
The job reports to the Production Supervisor.
- Contribute to accident‑free operations and comply with all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements and regulations.
- Fill hopper with sorted material to be ground.
- Change dust‑collection bags on all collection systems for the extrusion area.
- Separate scrap and regrind by color and identify properly using a tag.
- Provide production support in staging bins, skids, and regrind for use.
- Use safe operating procedures while operating forklift and perform a daily maintenance check at shift start.
- Inform Maintenance or Supervisor of any problems with grinding equipment.
- Understand and follow all company policies, practices, and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as needed and/or assigned by supervision or management.
- 1+ year of manufacturing experience, preferred.
- Forklift certification.
- Self‑directed, motivated, and able to multi‑task in a fast‑paced 24/7 manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
- Physical ability to push/pull/lift/manipulate 10–100 lbs.
- Ability to stand for the entire shift; kneeling, lifting overhead, bending, climbing, and crawling are often required.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment where temperatures can become very hot depending on the weather.
- High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
